Student-resident clash: Police arrest school management in Ogbomoso
Osun State Police Command has reportedly arrested the management of Areago Community High School Ogbomoso, over their alleged involvement in a clash between students and some residents within the community.
The suspects are being detained at Owode Divisional Police Station, Ogbomoso, according to multiple sources.
It was learnt that the affected employees are, “A Vice Principal, two senior teachers, and a day guard in the school.”
Sources said the suspects are currently being detained at Owode Divisional Police Station, Ogbomoso.
Investigations revealed that an altercation between some students of the school and some women in the area who attempted to pass through the school premises on a commercial motorcycle prompted the argument.
It was further gathered that the residents were prevented by the students because the Parent Teacher Association of the school had embarked on the erection of a perimeter fence.
One of the sources, who preferred not to be named said, “Construction of the fence became imperative because the school has become porous. A lot of untoward things are daily recorded in the school as a result of the porosity of the school.”
Another source said, “The school will no longer tolerate nonsense. The meeting we are holding is very crucial, and is one of the ways forward.”
