*Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako, resigns

Four more male commodities have been recovered from the scene of the collapsed building at Oniru, Lekki area of Lagos State.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Oluwafemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said this on Monday.
He added that though the operation is at Ground Zero, on Tuesday (Day 3) operation will move to the middle level. He noted that the operation is still ongoing.
Two corpses were recovered on Sunday and with Monday’s addition of four, the death toll now rising to six.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako has resigned.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced Salako’s resignation in a statement posted on his Twitter post on Monday.
He said: “The governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has accepted the resignation of the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako.
“This is a prelude to the restructuring of the Ministry and its agencies. Governor @jidesanwoolu thanks the Commissioner for his services to the state and wishes him success in his future endeavours.
“The governor warns all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any indiscretion, no matter who the perpetrators are.”
It was gathered that Salako’s resignation is propelled by the waves of the collapsed buildings in Lagos State, especially that of Sunday in the Oniru area of Lagos State.
