We’ve many things to offer academic world – Dr Abraham, Topfaith University Board Chairman

Dr Emmanuel Abraham, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Topfaith University, Mkpatak in Essien Udim Local Government Area has said that the institution’s curriculum is fashioned to position the university as a world-class institution.
Abraham said this during a facility tour of the institution with newsmen, noting that the university established in 2021 has many things to offer the academic world.
He said that the institution emphasized skill acquisition and entrepreneurship studies to equip the students to be self-reliant after graduation.
The chairman added that the curriculum of the institution is predicated on sound moral values laced with academics, preparing students to compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world.
“The university is just about two and a half years old, and it has quite a lot of things to offer and with your collaboration, thinking along with us, knowing our vision.
“We will be able to propagate this for the world to understand, to know that we are here and we can compete. We are already competing. Anywhere that the word University is mentioned in the world,” Abraham said.
Abraham said that the institution remains his vision that will prepare graduates differently to meet emerging trends in education worldwide.
He said: “Discipline is our watchword to ensure success and we are very serious about the characters of students admitted into the institution.
“We teach our students moral and leadership quality by building future leaders, here we nurture our students and do not allow them to wander.”
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Patrick Ebeowo, said the institution will remain a centre of attraction in the South-South in education with the infrastructure and academic manpower on ground.
Ebeowo said that Topfaith University has commenced the task of ending education tourism, as he was deployed from Kenya back to Nigeria to serve as vice chancellor of the institution.
He said that the Topfaith university which started with 177 students, now has increased to over 500 undergraduates offering different courses in five faculties and 24 departments.
“By the time we started, many students had already made a different choice of institution in their JAMB applications.
“All we did was give them a choice to still come here if they wanted to and with the special blessing from God, we started with 104 students. In the second year, we had about 177 students.
“By our last matriculation, which is the third matriculation we’ve had, we had 210. We have close to 500 students now, despite the economic situation in the country,” Ebeowo said. The vice chancellor said all four courses of the institution have been accredited by the National Universities Commission.
