Police arrest robbery suspects, recover firearms in Lagos
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers linked to incidents of conspiracy and armed robbery at an estate in Sangotedo on 11 and 13 April 2026.

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers linked to incidents of conspiracy and armed robbery at an estate in Sangotedo on 11 and 13 April 2026.
Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, said the police identified the suspects as Balogun Teslim, Suleman Balogun and Peter Oluwagbemi.
He added that officers responded to a distress call and apprehended the suspects, recovering a locally made pistol loaded with six rounds of live 9mm ammunition. They also seized two black face masks, a hammer, ropes, a large roll of cellophane tape, two black jackets and a pair of pliers.
“Members of the public attacked the suspects before police arrived. Officers intervened, rescued them and took them to a police medical facility, where they are receiving treatment.
“Two of the suspects have confessed and identified a man known as Kinsley, who remains at large, as their gang leader. Police are making efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect and bring all those involved to justice,” he added.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for violent crime and warned residents against jungle justice.
He, however, urged the public to report suspicious activities promptly.
