Lagos seals 12 sites over environmental breaches
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed 12 establishments, including a church, hotels, a nightclub and other businesses, over alleged persistent breaches of environmental regulations.
The enforcement operation was carried out on Tuesday, September 22, across Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed 12 establishments, including a church, hotels, a nightclub and other businesses, over alleged persistent breaches of environmental regulations.
The enforcement operation was carried out on Tuesday, September 22, across Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe.
LASEPA announced the action in a statement posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, saying the affected establishments had received warnings, abatement notices and opportunities to comply with its directives.
The agency said the enforcement followed directives from the Lagos State Government to strengthen compliance with environmental laws and protect public health.
Among the facilities sealed was Thrillz Lounge on Odusanmi Street, Ogba, over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance with LASEPA directives.
Other affected establishments included Feixiang Plastic on LASU-Ojo Road, Oko Filling Bus Stop; Marvel Hotel & Suites on Chrisbee Crescent, BRT Bus Stop, Igando; and Keviz Hotel & Suites on Councillor Ajayi Street, Obadore Bus Stop, LASU-Iba Road.
LASEPA said Keviz Hotel was also sealed for allegedly obstructing its officers during enforcement.
DSN Hotel & Suites on Benson Onyeacholen Street, O’Mark Bus Stop, LASU-Igando Road, and Rudaj Vegetable Oil on Tanimowo Street, Ologufe Bus Stop, Igando Road, were sealed for alleged non-compliance.
The enforcement also affected the Celestial Church of Christ, Aduragbemi Parish, on Adetola Buhari Street, Okerube Bus Stop, Ikotun, over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance.
Other establishments sealed were Limas on Aro-Oloye Street, off Abaranje Road, Abaranje, Ikotun; Nico Hotel & Suites at Ayawo Close, NEPA Bus Stop, Egbe-Isolo Road, Ejigbo; Kobo Night Club on Abanishe Street, off Hostel Road, Agodo-Egbe; Master Furniture on Coleman Street, Pao Bus Stop, Idimu-Ikota Road; and Nikky’s Executive Bar & Lounge on Governor’s Road, Ikotun.
LASEPA said Kobo Night Club was sealed over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance, while the other establishments were shut for alleged failure to comply with its directives.
The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, said the enforcement reflected the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment.
Ajayi urged business owners, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices and obtain the necessary permits and approvals.
He also called on operators to comply with environmental regulations and cooperate with LASEPA’s enforcement efforts.
The agency warned that it would continue to enforce environmental regulations across Lagos to promote a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment.
