CIPM stands stronger – Essien

The outgone Chairman, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Dr Rosalyn Essien, Akwa Ibom State, has said she is leaving the association stronger.

Speaking during the Annual General Meeting of CIPM and election of new executives at weekend in Uyo, Essien said her two year tenure witnessed an elevation of the association.

Essien stated that with continued unity, innovation and professionalism, the state chapter of CIPM will soar higher, noting that she has laid a solid foundation for greater achievements. 

While applauding the national leadership of CIPM for the support and encouragement during her tenure, she urged members to remain committed to the ethics of the profession.

“When I took up this mantle, I did so with a deep sense of responsibility and a commitment to uphold the values and vision of the CIPM. 

“The Journey, like any worthwhile endeavor, came with its own unique challenges, but even more so, it came with victories made possible by your total support, unwavering dedication, and collective belief in our shared mission.

“Together, we have recorded meaningful milestones, from impactful lectures and professional development programs, to fruitful collaborations and increased membership engagement. 

“We have collectively elevated the profile of CIPM within the State and beyond. I am proud to say that our Branch today stands stronger, more visible and more vibrant than ever.

“To my fellow Executive members, thank you for your loyalty, for your tireless service, and for standing by me through every initiative. You have been the wind beneath my wings and I could not have done this without your partnership,” she stated. 

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Mr Olyver Ernest, promised an inclusive leadership style, and pledged to uphold the standards of the stitute, as well as promote members interest. 

Ernest reeled out a list of planned programmes to include: membership growth and retention, member engagement, welfare, and benefits; training and development programs to 

enhance the skills and knowledge of members; and consultancy opportunities for members amongst others. 

“As we embark on this new role, we promise an inclusive leadership style that will engage all members of the branch. We will work assiduously to improve upon the work of our predecessors, uphold the standards of the stitute, and promote the interests of our members,” he said.
