Senator Ned Nwoko (APC–Delta North) has extended Easter greetings to Christians, urging Nigerians not to lose hope despite current challenges.
In a statement issued on Friday, the lawmaker, described Easter as a powerful reminder that difficult seasons are often followed by renewal and new beginnings.
In his message titled “Easter: Finding Strength in a Season of Challenge,” Nwoko acknowledged the economic and social pressures facing many households across the country.
“My heart goes out to every household carrying these real burdens,” he said. “Easter, however, reminds us that difficult moments do not define the end of the story.”
He noted that while challenges test resilience and demand patience, they also call for sincere and responsive leadership.
“As a people, we have never been strangers to adversity, yet we have always found a way forward,” he added.
Nwoko further described Nigeria as being in a period of transition, with ongoing reforms and adjustments. He admitted that the benefits of these changes might not yet be widely felt, but stressed the shared responsibility of both leaders and citizens to remain committed.
“There remains a responsibility on leadership and citizens alike to stay the course, act with empathy, and ensure that no one is left behind,” he said.
According to him, the season calls for accountability, fairness in governance, and unity among Nigerians.
He urged citizens to remain hopeful, grounded not in mere words but in the belief that collective effort and sound decisions would bring improvement.
“May this season bring renewed strength to every home, comfort to those in distress, and the assurance that better days lie ahead,” Nwoko said.
He concluded by wishing Christians a happy Easter celebration.
