Nnamdi Kanu defends Mbaka, says no need to address contract allegation
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has thrown his weight behind popular Catholic priest Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka in the wake of allegations by the Presidency.
In a viral sermon, Mbaka who endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari’s candidacy in 2015 and 2019 asked the president to resign or be impeached over insecurity in the country.
Mbaka also prayed that God would bless Kanu for his courage to speak up amid security challenges in the country.
“Wherever he is, may God bless him; because if someone has risen up to shout that his brothers are suffering, is it a crime?” he had asked.
The Presidency retorted alleging that he was aggrieved because the president did not award him contracts as compensation for his support.
Kanu, however, said in a tweet on Sunday that anyone asking Mbaka to address the allegations raised by the Presidency was a “moron and educated illiterate.”
“What has a contract to do with Rev Fr. Mbaka calling for the impeachment of the mask-wearing #Fulani terrorist in Aso Rock? he wrote.
