Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, belongs to his political camp, while stressing that all politicians ultimately align under President Bola Tinubu.

Wike made the remarks on Friday during an inspection exercise in Abuja, responding to Adeleke’s recent visits to both him and President Tinubu amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to Wike, Adeleke’s allegiance is clear following his meetings with Tinubu and himself. He dismissed claims by members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that they contributed to Adeleke’s electoral victory, arguing that the governor is now firmly aligned with the President.

“I told you that the 2027 election will be the most in-depth election. ADC are claiming they helped Adeleke win, but they are only trying to harvest what they never planted,” Wike said.

He added that Nigerians should expect more alliances to form in support of Tinubu, predicting a “larger rainbow coalition” in the coming weeks.

Wike also dismissed suggestions that the 2027 contest had already been settled, insisting that political manoeuvring was still unfolding. He took a swipe at former presidential candidate Dele Momodu, criticising his reported support for the ADC and Adeleke.

“Adeleke belongs to us, and we all belong to Mr President,” Wike concluded, reinforcing his assertion of Adeleke’s loyalty to Tinubu’s camp.

Adeleke had visited Wike in Abuja a day earlier to present his Certificate of Return, following his victory in the 15 August 2026 Osun State governorship election. He polled 511,067 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes, while ADC candidate Najeem Salaam came third with 17,180 votes.

The governor’s victory has intensified political calculations ahead of 2027, with parties and blocs seeking new alliances. Wike’s latest comments further fuel speculation about the growing realignment involving Adeleke, Wike, and Tinubu’s camp.
