Uda Union mobilises stakeholders for 2026 cultural festival

The Uda Development Union has summoned community leaders and stakeholders to a general meeting on Saturday to finalise plans for the 2026 Uda Cultural Festival and deliberate on issues affecting the community.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women’s groups, political stakeholders, elders, students, professionals and Uda indigenes, both at home and abroad, are to converge for the forthcoming meeting at Akprangprang Uda on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at 11 am.

According to the union, the meeting would focus primarily on preparations for the Uda Cultural Festival, scheduled for December 27, 2026.

The union noted that the September meeting will provide a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on matters concerning the peace, unity, welfare and development of the Uda Nation.

Chief (Mkpefe) Patrick Tom JP, the President General of the union, called on members of the executive committee, Uda Council of Chiefs, Community Youth Development Organisation, women’s wing, political class, senior citizens, student union, leaders of thought, teachers’ union, NULGE, captains of industry, market women and tippers’ union to attend.

The union also asked indigenes of Uda living outside the community to participate in the meeting and contribute to discussions on issues affecting the Uda community.

The union stressed the importance of broad participation, describing the meeting as an opportunity for the various sectors of Uda society to work collectively towards the community’s continued progress.

With the December cultural festival approaching, Saturday’s meeting is expected to set the tone for preparations for an event that will bring together Uda indigenes and residents to celebrate the community’s cultural heritage.
