Tinubu’s investigation is ongoing – EFCC chairman
Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said that the national leader of the All Progressives Congress and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is being investigated.
Bawa in an interview on Sunday, said that investigation about Tinubu is ongoing.
“When you are investigating matters like this, they don’t end in a day. Thousands of investigations are going on, on a daily basis,” he said.
He added: “You asked me a question earlier about arresting people before investigation and now you are saying why didn’t we arrest Tinubu? Why didn’t you just say ‘arrest him?’”
When Bawa was head of the Lagos Zonal Office, he reportedly demanded Tinubu’s assets declaration form but nothing has been heard of it since then.
Tinubu is touted to be nursing a presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 general elections, hoping to take over from Buhari when the retired military general leaves office.
