So-Safe Corps nabs crime suspect, recovers pistol, ammunition in Ogun
The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps has apprehended a suspected criminal during a naming ceremony with arms and live ammunition.
This is contained in the press release issued from the office of the State Commander of the So-Safe Corps Commander, (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.
According to the statement on Friday, 19th May 2023, law-abiding citizens of Ilukosi Olorunda town, Iro in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area put a call through to the Corps’ Area Command, requesting its prompt intervention to arrest a criminal suspect, who might be planning an attack on the people.
Ganzallo said that the officers and men of the corps, the Owode Egba Zonal Command under ACC Jimoh Rasaki Omoniyi, were charged to go after one Mr Segun Oke, alias Bouncing, who had been threatening the peace of the Ilukosi community and its environs.
He further revealed that the suspect on sighting the So-Safe team, took to his heels and straight to a bush to hide the double-mouthed locally made pistol, including live and used ammunition in his possession.
Ganzallo stated that the suspect was captured and the arms and ammunition were recovered from where they were hidden.
He said: “The suspect and the exhibits – one double-mouthed locally made pistol, two live and one used cartridge found with the suspect has been handed over to the Nigeria Police, Iro Police Post for onward transfer to Owode-Egba Divisional Headquarter for further investigation and likely prosecution.”
