The police added that the operation followed intelligence reports that illicit chin-chin snacks allegedly laced with Indian hemp were being produced and distributed from the premises. DSP Timfon John, Police Public Relations Officer, stated that upon storming the location, officers discovered that the facility was not only being used for the production of narcotic-laced food items but also served as a clandestine workshop for the fabrication of arms and ammunition.

Women in Otuabagi community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, have restored a degraded section of the Oloibiri swamp forest by planting 7,750 raffia palms, earning commendation from the community's traditional ruler, Chief Wisdom Otolo. Otolo, the head of the Agili community in Otuabagi, praised the Otuabagi Women Farmers’ Cooperative Society (OWFCS) for the initiative, which was carried out in the Ekpadior Forest between February and May.
