Police frees abducted commuters on Ibadan-Akure road

Osun State Police Command with the support from other security outfits, has secured the release of the two abductees, the driver and one commuter, reportedly missing/kidnapped on Ibadan-Akure road on March 6, 2021.

A statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin, the victims were released in the early hours of Tuesday, March 9, 2021 owing to the pressure on the abductors by the police and other security agencies.

The statement noted: “No money was paid.”

According to Olawoyin, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Olawale Olokode, has appealed to the good citizens of Osun State to collaborate with police to get rid of all criminal elements from the state.

He also assured the members of the public/commuters of their safety as security measures have been put in place to forestall future occurrence.
