Police chief urges applicants to meet recruitment deadline

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, on Thursday, visited the 2025 Police Constable Recruitment Screening Centre at the Police College, Ikeja, to assess the ongoing exercise and ensure compliance with established guidelines.

The screening, which began on Monday, 9 March 2026, is being conducted at the Police College in accordance with the approved procedures.

During the visit, the commissioner met with representatives of the Police Service Commission (PSC), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Lagos State Command, who are overseeing the process to ensure transparency, fairness and credibility.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, on Thursday, visited the 2025 Police Constable Recruitment Screening Centre at the Police College, Ikeja, to assess the ongoing exercise and ensure compliance with established guidelines.

The screening, which began on Monday, 9 March 2026, is being conducted at the Police College in accordance with the approved procedures.

During the visit, the commissioner met with representatives of the Police Service Commission (PSC), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Lagos State Command, who are overseeing the process to ensure transparency, fairness and credibility.

Fatai noted that the exercise aligns with the vision and directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at entrenching a transparent, credible and merit-based recruitment process in the Nigeria Police Force.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of organisation and coordination at the centre, commending officials and partner agencies for their professionalism and commitment to due process.

Fatai urged applicants who have yet to participate in the screening to do so before the closing date of Saturday, 18 April 2026, warning that failure to appear within the stipulated period may lead to disqualification.

He also reassured the public of the command’s commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness throughout the recruitment exercise.
