Police arraign man, 35, over illegal possession of firearms in Bayelsa

The Police in Bayelsa State on Friday confirmed the arraignment of one Kelvin Ekuere, 35 from Koluama community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Ekuere was in November arrested over alleged illegal possession of firearms.

 In an update following the arrest, SP Asinim Butswat, averred that Ekuere was arrested over alleged illegal possession of firearms and has been charged on Friday.

According to Butswat, the suspect had claimed to be working with one Tibiebi Woinemi Amadein, an aide to Senator Cleopas Moses, representing Bayelsa Central at the National Assembly.

He said that following the confusion of investigation, the suspect was charged to court on Friday and said the prosecution was ongoing.
