Governor Udom Emmanuel has received praises from HRM Ntenyin Dr Solomon Daniel Etuk, the Oku Ibom Ibibio and the President General, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council on the inauguration of a befitting ancestral home for the Ibibio ethnic nationality.

Christened as Asan Ibibio, located at Ikot Oku Ikono in the fringes of the Uyo metropolis bordering Etinan Local Government, has been in dilapidated shape long before Governor Udom Emmanuel took office in 2015.

The remodelling of the Asan started with the construction of a perimeter fence before an auditorium was erected on the premises.

The Oku Ibom while pouring encomiums on the governor, said the commissioning ceremony is one of the happiest days of his reign on the traditional stool.

He said that by “giving the Ibibios a befitting home”, Governor has reinforced his reputation as a worthy Ibibio and Akwa Ibom son and icon who holds the traditional institution in high esteem.

The royal father prayed for divine blessings and protection for Governor Emmanuel and his family.

Moved by the numerous development projects completed and commissioned by the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration, the Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has stated that the governor has done the state proud.

Governor-elect Pastor Umo Eno on his part said the project is a unique architectural piece and the pride of Ibibio people, and urged the people of the area to strengthen their bond of unity for the good of Ibibio nation and the state at large.

Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga said the complex is the largest auditorium in Akwa Ibom State.

According to him, Professor Ibanga intimated to the governor that the edifice is a two thousand-five-hundred-seat capacity made up of three galleries inside, seven offices with special conference rooms as well as twenty-five toilets and two hundred car packing space.

Governor Udom Emmanuel on his part said the ultra-modern complex is an alternative to Ibom Hall Grounds with a whole lot of economic value.

He said since 2015 when he became governor, his administration has been very supportive of the traditional institution.
