The Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, King Albert Akpomudje (SAN), Eyavwien-Alaka I, will on Thursday begin a tour of communities across his kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The tour, which will run until September, is part of activities leading up to the monarch’s first coronation anniversary in November.

The traditional ruler announced the tour on Wednesday while speaking with journalists in Olomu.

Before meeting the press, the monarch held a general meeting with chiefs and community leaders to discuss issues concerning the kingdom.

He said the tour was designed to strengthen the relationship between the traditional institution and the people, while providing an opportunity for direct engagement with residents.

According to him, the visits will enable him to interact with chiefs, elders, youths, women and other members of the various communities and better understand their concerns.

The monarch said the tour would also allow him to assess issues affecting the communities and receive feedback directly from residents.

“During the tour, I will be received by community leaders and residents of Olomu Kingdom,” he said.

The first anniversary of King Akpomudje’s coronation will be marked in November, when the monarch is expected to reaffirm his commitment to peace, unity, cultural preservation and sustainable development across Olomu Kingdom.
