The Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) Worldwide has urged the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) to suspend its planned protest over the legal dispute involving the President of Azikel Group, Dr Azibapu Godbless Eruani, CFR, and Mr Kariyai Daukoru.

The group described the proposed protest as unnecessary, noting that the matter is already before a court of competent jurisdiction.

In a statement issued on Saturday, OBYC called on the IYC Central Zone Chairman, Comrade Peres Ineife, to suspend the protest and allow the judicial process to run its course.

The council also appealed to the newly elected IYC Worldwide President, Dr Doubra Collins Okotete, to promote dialogue and reconciliation over the aviation training initiative.

According to the group, Dr Eruani’s aviation training programme was conceived as a philanthropic initiative aimed at empowering youths in Bayelsa State.

OBYC rejected allegations that the Azikel Group President intended to victimise anyone through the programme, insisting that the initiative was designed solely to create opportunities for young people.

The council urged Ijaw youths, political leaders and other stakeholders to remain peaceful, respect the rule of law and refrain from actions capable of undermining the judicial process.

It stressed that disputes should be resolved through lawful means in order to preserve peace, maintain public confidence in the judiciary and safeguard the interests of all parties involved.
