NOA urges youth in A’Ibom on safe sexual lifestyle

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged youth in Akwa Ibom to exhibit a quality sexual lifestyle to ensure the safety of their life as future leaders.

The State Director of NOA, Mr Mkpoutom Mkpoutom, gave the charge while addressing youth during a medical background conference held in Uyo on Wednesday.

Mkpoutom urged the youth to make informed choices related to their health, sex, and lifestyle, as they empowered themselves to thrive in all areas of life.

He appealed to parents and caregivers to invest in the upbringing of the youth and watch as they blossom into vibrant and productive individuals.

“Remember, it’s not just about being healthy; it’s about living your life to the fullest, achieving your dreams, and becoming the best version of yourself.

“Together, we can cultivate an environment where young people feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health, leading to a brighter future for all Nigerians,” Mkpoutom said.

In his remarks, Miss Victory Edoho, the convener of the conference, said that young people stand at the threshold of adulthood where decisions about their health, sexuality, and lifestyle could have lifelong impacts.

Edoho urged youth to prioritise their health, practice safe sex and exhibit a healthy lifestyle to achieve excellence in life.

“It is an exciting time filled with possibilities, but with freedom comes responsibility, and the choices today may shape not only the individual you become but also your future well-being.

It is essential to navigate this journey with caution and awareness,” Edoho said.

In his contribution, Mr Akwaowo Akpan, Sex Life Educator, advised the youth on the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ in sex life.

Akwaowo urged youth to practice safe sex, which was vital to protecting themselves and their partners from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancies.
