Farm worker allegedly steals N8m worth of live chicken

The director of Libro Farm Bambose in ODEDA has lodged a complain before CSP Kola Akande the DPO over 1,300 missing live fowls kept in hen house under the care of one Abiola Olumuyiwa “m”, 56yrs of Agbaja zone 3 off Akute Road Olodo Ibadan who was employed on the 28th of January 2023 to look after the hen house.

On the 11th of August 2023, when the fowls were counted, the director discovered that about one thousand three hundred valued at 8m Naira could not be accounted for.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, SP Omolola Odutola, said the farm director is pained at the enormous havoc done to the poultry farm in reference to the harsh economic situation.

He added that the suspect when asked if any death or disease attacked the livestock he replied negative. His demure is relevant, when he said he made me a mistake.

“A preliminary investigation has commenced and the suspect has been apprehended and presently in police custody to ascertain the extent or veracity of Abiola’s theft, if he was stealing from the poultry farm and selling or eating them, all that will be made known soon to members of the public,” Odutola said.

The Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha has been briefed he has ordered for more information within and around the poultry to the Police so as to get leading to the whole suspected culprits of conspiracy and stealing.
