Organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League, the League Management Company, LMC, have postponed this weekend’s Match-day 15 clash between Jigawa Golden Stars and Akwa United earlier scheduled to take place in Kaduna on Sunday, 14th March 2021.

The postponement is due to team Akwa United’s involvement in an auto crash on Friday morning on their way to Kaduna to honour the game.

This was contained in a statement from the Akwa United FC Media Manager, Mfon Patrick, on Saturday.

In a letter dated Friday 12th March, 2021 and signed by the LMC Chief Operating Officer Salihu Abubakar, the new date for the match will be communicated to the parties involved.

The league organisers sympathised with the management, staff and players of Akwa United over the sad incident and regret any inconveniences the postponement may have caused all involved.
