Akwa United felicitates NFF president on FIFA executive seat victory

The chairman, management, staff and players of Akwa United FC heartily congratulate the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Amaju Pinnick on his victory as a FIFA executive council member.

Pinnick emerged the winner from the Anglophone region to the FIFA executive council seat after defeating Malawian Walter Nyamilandu by 43 to 8 votes at the 43rd Ordinary and Elective General Assembly of CAF, where he was also announced the 5th Vice President of CAF.

This was contained in a statement from the Akwa United FC Media Manager, Mfon Patrick, on Saturday.

The chairman of Akwa United, Mr Paul Bassey described Pinnick’s emergence as a FIFA executive council member as an opportunity to re-launch Nigeria football into global limelight.

“I want to on behalf of Akwa United FC congratulate our NFF president, Mr Amaju Pinnick on his landslide victory at the FIFA Council elections.

“With Pinnick’s emergence it is another wonderful opportunity to further develop Nigeria and African football.

“Pinnick is an experienced and a visionary sports administrator, and we are optimistic that he will bring his wealth of knowledge in football administration to bear in repositioning Nigeria and African football for future glory.

Bassey wished the new FIFA executive council member, Nigeria’s third in history after Etubom Orok Oyo and Dr Amos Adamu, successful tenure in office advantage Africa.
