Lagos LGA pledges to rehabilitate schools

The chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr Wasiu Adesina, on Tuesday said he would rehabilitate primary schools in the area.

The chairman said this after inspecting Salvation Army Primary School as well as some roads and promised to start work on all identified areas immediately.

He said: “I want to do a physical assessment of infrastructure, especially our primary schools, that is why I came with my team to inspect Salvation Army Primary School.

“After here, I will move to inspect the poor state of Agura-Gberigbe road, too.

“I was unhappy when I saw the learning condition of the pupils, I promised to demolish and start repair works on failed portions and facelift of the buildings immediately.”

During the tour to Agura Gberigbe, residents and commuters lament the untold hardship they experienced on the road and appealed to the council chairman to repair the road as the yuletide draws nearer.

Adesina, in his response also promised that work would begin in earnest with a view to alleviating the sufferings of residents and commuters plying the road in the areas.

“I’ve seen and listened to the residents and committers on the poor state of the road, I promise to commence work immediately so that people will enjoy the festive period,” he said.
