First anniversary: I’ve served A’Ibom with integrity, Eno says

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno said he has served the state within the last one-year with integrity.

Speaking on Tuesday in Uyo during a media briefing outlining his first anniversary as governor, Eno said he has worked within his agenda to the best of his ability.

“I have served Akwa Ibom State in the last year with the integrity of my heart. What we want for our state is to serve our people.

“We have tried the best we can to stay within our agenda. To the best of my ability under God, I have served Akwa Ibom with all my heart,” he stated.

Speaking on security, Governor Eno said the government would fish out all those involved in the recent incidents of kidnapping in the state and other forms of criminality.

He warned communities harbouring such criminals that the government would not tolerate such acts, saying the government has invested so much in security and would ensure the lives and safety of the citizenry.

“We are taking on the fight headlong. For every kidnapping that has happened in this state, we have traced them. Some communities are harbouring these people, and see this as a business.

“We are moving closer and very soon some arrests will be made. We will soon establish a command-and-control centre. We cannot allow this to continue, we will not allow criminals to run the state,” he stated.

On road construction, the governor said already he has terminated the contracts on four roads where the contractors have not lived up to the expectations and re-awarded them.

Within the last year, Eno has executed projects in the health, agriculture, education and aviation sectors, as well as security and road infrastructure across the state in line with his ARISE agenda.
