Female student of The Poly, Ibadan shot on campus
A female student of The Polytechnic Ibadan, whose name has not been revealed, has reportedly been shot.
It was learnt that the female student was shot Tuesday afternoon by a yet to be identified person.
Though the person that shot the female student has not been revealed, our correspondent learnt that the student was shot within the campus.
The reason for the shooting has not been known.
Our correspondent gathered on Wednesday that the student was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.
It was gathered that she is still responding to treatment as at the time of filing this report.
Registrar of the institution, Mrs. Modupe Fawale confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on Wednesday.
Fawale, in her reaction, urged the students to remain calm and vigilant.
She appealed to them to report suspicious activities to the Students Affairs office and other arms of the authority for necessary action.
“The Authorities of The Polytechnic, Ibadan (TPI) have appealed to the students of the Institution to remain calm as a female student that was shot is responding to treatment at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan,” she said.
“The unfortunate incident happened at the sewage area late in the afternoon where a gunshot hit the female student.
“The female student was immediately rushed to the University College Hospital where a first-class medical attention was given to her.
“We appeal to all students and staff to remain calm and abide with all the regulations as investigations have been launched into the source of the gunshot.”
