Enugu State-owned airline, Enugu Air, has secured approval to operate the Lagos–London Gatwick route, with Omni-Blu Aviation appointed as the designated operator under a strategic partnership.
The approval marks a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion drive and is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The proposed route is also expected to create new opportunities for passenger travel and trade between the two countries.
The airline said the development aligns with the aviation vision of Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, to position the state as an emerging hub for international connectivity, investment, tourism and economic growth.
It added that the partnership with Omni-Blu Aviation would support its ambition to expand its operations and establish a stronger presence in the international aviation market.
