Eno sacks Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey Okon

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has sacked his Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey Okon.
Governor Eno who said the sack was with immediate effect, thanked Dr Okon for his services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.
In a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah on Monday in Uyo, the governor stated that the decision was in line with efforts to reposition the state.
“In an ongoing effort to reposition this administration in line with the ARISE AGENDA, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, has relieved Dr. Bassey P. Okon, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties as Commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council with immediate effect.
“His Excellency, thanks him for his services to the State and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.
“He is therefore, directed to handover to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry. In the meantime, the Ministry will be supervised by the Secretary to the State Government pending the appointment of a new Commissioner,” the release stated.
On assumption of duty, Governor Umo Eno had said any Commissioner that was not hard working would be sacked.
