EFCC arrests impostor over N3m fraud in Maiduguri
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a man, Nuhu Dahiru, for allegedly impersonating an EFCC operative and obtaining N3 million from unsuspecting members of the public by false pretences in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a man, Nuhu Dahiru, for allegedly impersonating an EFCC operative and obtaining N3 million from unsuspecting members of the public by false pretences in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Oyewale said operatives of the commission’s Maiduguri Zonal Directorate arrested Dahiru at Tashan Bama, along Bama Road, following credible intelligence that he had been posing as an EFCC officer and defrauding members of the public.
He said N3 million was recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest.
According to Oyewale, the suspect allegedly used the false identity to obtain money from unsuspecting members of the public.
He added that Dahiru would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
