Davido returns, confirms he’ll perform at World Cup closing ceremony

Music superstar, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has been scheduled to perform at the closing ceremony of the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

This is coming a few weeks after he lost his three years old son, Ifeanyi.

But Chinese businessman, Stephen Hung shared the good news via his official Instagram story hours ago.

He claimed that the singer had confirmed that he will be closing the ceremony at the World Cup.

He tweeted, “So happy my bro @davido confirmed he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there”.

According to sources, Davido will perform the Qatar World Cup song “Hayya Hayya (Happy Together)” with Trinidadian singer Cardona and Qatari singer Aisha during the closing ceremony, which is scheduled for Sunday.

Davido had made history as he, alongside Cardona and Aisha, recorded the 2022 World Cup soundtrack, ‘Hayya Hayya’ (Better Together).

Taking to Twitter, Davido said he was honoured, adding that the development “is a win for Africa.”
