Breaking: Policeman, two NSCDC personnel killed in Uzodinma’s house attack

Hoodlums who tried to burn down Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State house by throwing into the compound petrol bomb on Saturday morning, April 24, 2021, killed a police sergeant and two personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps while escaping.
It was learnt that the first victim was unarmed personnel of the NSCDC, who was killed during the attack at the governor’s house located in his hometown of Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State. The hoodlums were said to be on black attire.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Imo State Command, SP Ikeokwu Orlando, who confirmed the attempt by the hoodlums to raze the governor’s house, added that the assailants were successfully repelled by security agents.
He said: “Yes, I can confirm the story, the hoodlums attacked the governor’s house by throwing in petrol bomb as a result of which two cars were burnt.
“They were successfully repelled, and none of the building was set ablaze.
“However, one unarmed personnel of the NSCDC was killed in the process. The hoodlums while escaping also killed a police sergeant and another NSCDC personnel, both in private vehicles at Mgbidi Junction.”
