BREAKING: “Famodun Must Go” – Osun APC members storm Osogbo streets

Members of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State have staged a peaceful protest against the party Chairman, Prince Adegboyega Famodun, demanding his removal over incompetence to resolve the lingering crisis within the party.

The protesters started the protest from Odi-Olowo through Ogo Oluwa to Osun House of Assembly in Osogbo in the early hours of Tuesday.

The protesting members of the party accused Famodun of destroying the party due to his inability to lead the party to victory in the last July 16 governorship election in the state.

Inscriptions on placards carried by the protesters include, ” for the Osun APC Famodun must go”, “Osun APC must be restructured Now”.

Speaking during the protest, former Chairman of Osogbo South LCDA, Hakeem Olaoye said if the party is not restructured, it may find it difficult to win future elections.

“Our party may not be able to win future elections if it’s not restructured. We’re calling on our national headquarters to restructure our party for future elections.”

VAM News learnt that the group have been at loggerheads with Governor Oyetola since 2020.

Oyetola, who was the candidate of the Party, lost the 2022 governorship election to the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
