Breaking: Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, is dead

The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, is dead.
The People Democratic Party (PDP) confirmed the news of Ewhrudjakpo’s demise on Thursday evening.
He collapsed in the afternoon in his office and was rushed to Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, prompting an immediate emergency response.
A hospital official who did not wish to be named confirmed that the deputy governor was brought in for urgent medical attention.
No official statement has been issued on the cause of the health scare, but sources suggested it may be related to a cardiac emergency.
A source close to the deputy governor attributed the situation to his demanding schedule, saying: “He’s a workaholic; he should find time to rest.”
The deputy governor’s media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi, confirmed that his principal slumped and was taken to the hospital.
