Azare commends Ibesikpo Asutan chairman’s police support

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, Baba Mohammed Azare, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Rt Hon Edidiong Inyang, for his strong support and personal commitment to police operations in the area.

Azare made the commendation during a thank-you visit to the council chairman, where he expressed appreciation for his consistent partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and his efforts to strengthen security across the local government.

The commissioner said Inyang’s support went beyond providing resources to assist the Police in carrying out its statutory responsibilities, noting that the chairman had demonstrated an uncommon commitment to the safety of residents.

According to Azare, Inyang had on several occasions personally accompanied police officers to operational locations, a gesture he described as a practical demonstration of responsible leadership and a determination to protect lives and property.

He said such cooperation represented the kind of partnership required among the Police, government and communities to achieve effective and sustainable policing.

After the visit, Inyang accompanied the commissioner to the Ibesikpo Asutan Divisional Police Station, where they interacted with officers and inspected facilities at the station.

The visit further strengthened the partnership between the Akwa Ibom State Police Command and the Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Council, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace, supporting effective policing and protecting residents.

Responding, Inyang thanked the commissioner for the visit and praised his leadership and commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state.

He assured the Police Command of his continued support and cooperation, as well as his readiness to participate actively in initiatives aimed at combating crime and protecting lives and property in Ibesikpo Asutan and the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Awka, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, was also referenced in the communication of the Police Command’s broader public-information approach, while the Akwa Ibom statement was signed by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Timfon John.
