Mr Eluwade Eluyemi has assumed duty as the 15th State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Akwa Ibom Command.

Eluyemi urged officers and men of the command to rededicate themselves to deliver on the mandates of the corps by showing commitment to duty.

This is contained in a press statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, Mr Friday Ekerete, in Uyo and made available to newsmen on Thursday.

Ekerete in the statement said that Eluyemi took over from State Commandant, Dr Yusuf Imam, who has been redeployed to NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja.

He added that the new state Commandant has worked in different NSCDC commands across the country, before being posted to Akwa Ibom.

He said that Eluyemi is a Mechanical Engineer by profession and holds a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria (2016).

“A new state Commandant has been deployed to Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. He is Commandant Eluwade Mosadoluwa Eluyemi.

“He takes over from Dr Yusuf Adam Imam, who has been redeployed to NSCDC National headquarters, Abuja,” Ekerete said.

According to him, the commandant after taking over briefed officers of the command and solicited their support to actualise the mandate of the Corps as enshrined in the NSCDC Act 2003 and 2007 as amended.

He said the commandant commended his predecessor for his valuable contributions and service to the growth of the command and pledged to bring fresh zeal and vigour to actualising the mandates of the corps.

He said that the new state commandant has promised to work in collaboration with the state Government and other security agencies in the state to ensure adequate protection of government critical infrastructure. He said the commandant urged Akwa Ibom people to avail the command of useful information concerning crimes and criminalities to enable the command to deliver on its mandate
