A’Ibom govt offsets over N1m indigent patients’ bills at UUTH

The Akwa Ibom State government has paid over N1m to offset the bills of indigent patients in the labour ward of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Akwa Ibom State.
This was disclosed during the Governor Emmanuel’s prayer squad visits to the hospital on Thursday.
The Special Assistant to the State Governor on Religious Affairs, Rev. Daniel Akwatang and Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Government House Monthly Prayer Committee, Mr Emmanuel Bassey and members on behalf of the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, said the gesture was a tradition of the Committee to put smiles on the faces of the needy in the society.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr EmemAbasi Bassey and Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Kunle Abudu, who received the team, expressed gratitude to Emmanuel for the show of love extended to patients in the UUTH and prayed God for more blessings to the Governor.
Speaking with journalists, one of the patients and nursing mother of twin, Eno-Obong Sylvester from Nnung Ate-Ibesikpo, thanked Emmanuel for the show of love and prayed to God to reward him and his family.
