A’Ibom govt earmarks N300m as seed fund for 400 female entrepreneurs

The Akwa Ibom State Government has earmarked N300 million as seed fund for 400 female entrepreneurs.

Each of the 400 trained female youths will receive ₦750,000 under the Ibom LED Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme.

The female beneficiaries are part of the awards, recognition and celebration night featuring a special live performance by Africa’s highlife king, Flavour planned by the state government for Thursday, February 6, 2025.

Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, said on Wednesday in Uyo that the event will showcase the government’s commitment to empowering and rewarding Akwa Ibom people for their hard work.

Uwah, who is the Organising Committee Chairman for the awards, explained that 50 winners of the Arise Home Farmers Scheme will each receive a ₦500,000 grant.

He also stated that the best civil servants in all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) nominated during the December Ministerial briefings will receive a reward of N1,000,000 from Governor Umo Eno in recognition of their dedication and excellence.

“An exciting evening led by Governor Umo Eno, designed to provide top-tier entertainment while showcasing the administration’s unwavering commitment to empowering and rewarding the people of Akwa Ibom for their hard work.

“The governor will honor and reward individuals and groups who have excelled in their respective fields, with a special focus on female youths, recognized as the state’s greatest cheerleaders in its support structure,” he stated.
