Akwa Ibom SUBEB begins 1,000 teachers’ recruitment
The Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced plans to recruit 1,000 qualified teachers to fill vacancies in public primary and junior secondary schools in the state.
In a statement signed on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk said the recruitment exercise is designed to improve the teacher-pupil ratio, enhance learning outcomes and strengthen the delivery of quality basic education in line with the Akwa Ibom State Government’s ARISE Agenda.

In a statement signed on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk said the recruitment exercise is designed to improve the teacher-pupil ratio, enhance learning outcomes and strengthen the delivery of quality basic education in line with the Akwa Ibom State Government’s ARISE Agenda.
Etuk said the recruitment process would be transparent, merit-based and open exclusively to qualified indigenes of Akwa Ibom State.
He directed interested applicants to submit their applications through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal, adding that the online application portal will open on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, and close on Friday, 31 July 2026.
According to the Board, applicants must possess at least one of the following qualifications from a recognised institution: the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A. Ed), or Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc. Ed).
SUBEB stated that only shortlisted candidates would be invited to sit a Computer-Based Test (CBT), which will constitute the next stage of the recruitment process.
The board encouraged qualified applicants to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the exercise as part of the state government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector through the recruitment of competent teachers for public basic schools across Akwa Ibom.
