NOA lauds security agencies’ synergy for arresting Benue murder suspects
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has praised the synergy and collaboration of security agencies in the country. These efforts led to the prompt arrest of the suspects who masterminded the recent killings in Yeletawa, Benue.
The Director General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said that the arrest showed the commitment of the security agencies. They are dedicated to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Paul Odenyi, Deputy Director, Communication and Media, on Wednesday.
President Bola Tinubu visited Benue last week. During his visit, he ordered the security agencies to identify those responsible for the act. This act resulted in the loss of several lives and destruction of property.
Odenyi said the DG noted that the swift action taken by the police and other security agencies has brought a sense of relief to the affected communities and the nation at large.
“The Director General express his gratitude to the security agencies for their tireless efforts in maintaining law and order in the country, emphasising that the arrest will serve as a deterrent to others who may be planning similar heinous crimes,” he said.
Odenyi quoted the DG stated that under the Nigerian Promise of the National Values Charter, peace and security are considered one of the fundamental promises made by leaders to the people.
He noted that the arrest of the suspected mastermind behind the massacre was a fulfilment of the promise.
He said that the director general commended the synergy and collaboration among the security agencies, which he said was instrumental in the successful arrest of the suspect.
He added that such cooperation was essential in tackling the complex security challenges facing the nation.
“The NOA Boss urge Nigerians to continue supporting the security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and stability in the country,” he said.
He called on citizens to provide security agencies with accurate and timely information to aid their work.
He reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to promoting unity, patriotism, and national integration.
NOA urged all Nigerians to work together to build a culture of peace and peaceful coexistence.
