The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in Niger Delta (MOSIEND), on Thursday applauded the exceptional leadership and service of Gen. Christopher Musa.

MOSIEND noted that Musa’s tenure as Chief of Defence Staff over the past two years has been marked by outstanding achievements and transformative progress in Nigeria’s security landscape.

Dr Kenedy Tonjo-West, President of MOSIEND, who made the commendation in an interview in Yenagoa, noted that Musa’s patriotism is commendable.

“Under General Musa’s visionary stewardship, the Armed Forces of Nigeria have made significant strides in combating terrorism, banditry, and other security threats.

“The security forces under Musa’s command have been making concerted efforts in restoring hope and reinforcing national confidence in the military’s ability to safeguard lives and property,” Tonjo-West said.

The Ijaw leader listed key highlights of Musa’s accomplishments, including the neutralisation and arrest of terrorists in the theatre of operations.

Tonjo-West explained that over 6,000 terrorists have been neutralised and 14,138 arrested across various theatres of operation.

According to him, these feats underscore the military’s unwavering commitment to protecting the nation and maintaining internal stability, while providing enhanced welfare for troops.

“General Musa has prioritised the well-being of service members and their families. Key initiatives include an increase in soldiers’ Ration Cash Allowance (RCA).

“Renovation and construction of schools and facilities within barracks. Deployment of modern military equipment to frontline units.

“Capacity building and professional development amongst the rank and file across various services of the armed forces.

“He approved local and international medical treatments for Army personnel and facilitated a wide range of training programs both at home and abroad to bolster the operational capacity and effectiveness of Nigeria’s Armed Forces,” Tonjo-West said.

Tonjo-West also observed that the Chief of Defence Staff has strengthened inter-agency collaboration.

According to him, Musa’s tenure has witnessed the deepening of strategic partnerships with sister security agencies and stakeholders, fostering a more synchronised and effective national security framework.

He further noted that Musa’s leadership has not only yielded tangible security gains but has also revived morale, discipline, and professionalism within the Armed Forces.

“His selfless service and unwavering dedication to both national security and the welfare of his personnel have earned him widespread respect and admiration.

“On behalf of MOSIEND and the peace-loving people of Nigeria, we extend our deepest gratitude to General Christopher Musa for his patriotic service.

“This steadfast commitment to building a more secure and united Nigeria in the face of obvious challenges before the country is a feat we wholeheartedly acknowledge and celebrate.

“We look forward to his continued contributions to the peace, unity, and progress of our great nation,” Tonjo-West said.”
