A’Ibom govt hails deputy governor Moses Ekpo for receiving Sun’s Lifetime award

The Akwa Ibom Government has felicitated with her Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, for receiving the Sun Lifetime Award for year 2020 scheduled to be conferred on him on October 16, 2021.
The message of felicitation was contained in statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, and made available to newsmen in Uyo on Friday.
Ekuwem described Ekpo as a wise counsellor and an excellent contributor to the growth and development of Akwa Ibom State.
According to the statement, Ekpo has been a thorough-bred professional, social mobiliser, community leader and a politician of impeccable loyalty.
He said: “The many wise counsel and excellent contributions you have made to the growth and development of Akwa Ibom State in particular and Nigeria in general, have distinguished you as a rare gem.
“As a thoroughbred professional, social mobilizer, community leader and politician of impeccable loyalty, you have remained an icon of hope for our generation. The Award is an eloquent exemplification of the State’s Dakkada philosophy.”
The Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Mr Ekikere Umoh said his boss has received some high profile goodwill messages from Committee of Friends, the College of Commissioners, members of the National Assembly, the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Office of the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, among several others.
Umoh noted that the 2021 Sun Award tagged, “Celebrating Excellence,” 24 individuals including three state governors, two deputy governors, top-notch politicians and captains of industries, who have distinguished themselves in various areas of careers, will be conferred with different categories of the awards.
He said that the Sun’s Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a nominee who is above 70 years and has made tremendous impact over the years in the socio-economic and political development of the country.
