Woman in Anambra pushes 14-year-old maid from four-storey building

Mrs Onwanna Nnenna, from Nando, Anambra State, has allegedly pushed her 14-year-old maid, Ijeoma Nwafor, from a four-storey building.

It was learnt that the woman committed the crime on Saturday at Otu Street, Awada, Onitsha.

The victim, who is said to have survived the incident with serious injuries, is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

A source in the community stated that the woman was fond of beating the girl at every slightest opportunity, adding that the girl landed on a fence while falling down.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, adding that the woman has been arrested.

“The Anambra State Police Operatives on 2/7/2022 have arrested one Mrs Onwanna Nnenna F age 29yrs old from Nando, Anambra East on a case of attempted murder that happened at Otu Street, Awada Onitsha.

“Preliminary information shows that the victim, one Miss Ijeoma Nwafor F, 14-year-old, a native of Achalla was pushed down from a four-storey building by the suspect when she was beating her. Other details reveal that the victim is a house help to the suspect.

“Meanwhile, Mrs Nnenna is currently in police custody and the victim, receiving treatment in a hospital. Further development shall be communicated please,” he said.
