Viral video: Rivers State Police Commissioner orders the immediate arrest of police operatives

Following the identification of the policemen shown in a viral video harassing and assaulting an unidentified man at Elibrade junction, Emohua, the Rivers State Command Commissioner of Police, CP Okon O. Effiong, has ordered the immediate arrest of the officers indicated.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, on Monday, 10 April 2023 that as a defender of human rights, the CP assures members of the public, that the police officers would be investigated in accord with extant rules underlying the conduct of police personnel; and appropriate sanctions meted accordingly.
“The Command further assures the good people of Rivers State of its unalloyed commitment to promoting the rule of law.
“People are enjoined to report cases of human rights abuse and infractions through the following numbers: 08039213071 and 08098880134,” she said.
