UNIUYO holds 32nd matriculation Friday

The University of Uyo has said it will hold its 32nd matriculation ceremony for fresh students on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Registrar and Secretary to Senate of the University, Mrs Blossom Okorie said on Wednesday in Uyo that the matriculation ceremony is only for freshmen admitted into the 2024/2025 session.

Okorie who explained that the matriculation was compulsory for all new students, including those from the Postgraduate School, said the ceremony will take place at the Convocation Arena, Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, Uyo, by 10:00am.

She advised fresh students who are yet to pay the prescribed fees and have completed all registration procedures to do so, adding that they are to pay N10,000 for the academic gown and cap to be used for the ceremony.

“The Management of the University of Uyo has scheduled the 32nd Matriculation Ceremony of the Institution on Friday, April 04, 2025.

“The 32nd Matriculation Ceremony is for the freshmen admitted into the University in the 2024/2025 session. It will take place at the Convocation Arena, Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, Uyo, by 10:00 am.

“The Matriculation exercise is mandatory for all freshmen, including those from the Postgraduate School.

“Accordingly, each fresh student is to pay the sum of N10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira) only via the University Portal for hiring of Academic Gown and Cap and collect same at their respective faculties and the Postgraduate School.

“Please note that only fresh students who have paid the prescribed fees and completed all registration procedures will be eligible for the Matriculation Ceremony. Therefore, freshmen who have not completed their registration should do so urgently as the University Portal will close on Tuesday, April 01, 2025.

“Freshmen should equally note that the Matriculation Procession will start at the venue by 8:30 am led by the Faculty Officers and Secretaries of Schools,” the registrar stated.
