The Umo Eno Diaspora Vanguards, a forum of Akwa Ibom sons and daughters based in about 20 overseas nations including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, China, India, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Australia and others have congratulated the Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno on his victory in the 2023 governorship election.
International President of the forum, Hon. Engr Eduok Eduok, a former member representing Ibesikpo Asutan in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, in a recent chat with News Intel over the weekend, on behalf of the forum, hailed the victory as overwhelming and a confirmation of the people’s resolve to pursue a future with abundant peace, development and unity.
He said the governor-elect as an entrepreneur would boost the economy of the state through vigorous creation and sustainability of jobs, cater for civil servants and most importantly run the state with the fear of God by not encouraging vices such as corruption, cultism, kidnapping and nepotism.
“As we heartily congratulate our revered Principal, it is our utmost belief that he would surpass our expectations and prove to us that we made a good choice of standing by him when the idea to birth this group was conceived in 2021,” Texas, United States based engineer added.
Eduok also advised: “We urge Akwa Ibom people from all walks of life to look beyond primordial considerations and throw their support for the soon-to-be-inaugurated administration of Pastor Umo Eno.”
Eduok, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recalled that the forum had been at the forefront of projecting the candidacy of Pastor Umo Eno and all PDP candidates in Nigeria through mobilization of voters and regular sensitization in communities and the media.
