Taraba NLC chairman abductors demand N11m ransom

The abductors of the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr Peter Jdeiel, are demanding N11 million ransom to free the man.

Jediel was kidnapped from his residence last Sunday in Sunkani, the administrative headquarters of Ardo-Kola local government council.

This is the second time Jediel has been abducted from the same spot within six months.

A family source, who spoke with our reporter via telephone said, “the people who kidnapped the NLC boss have called. They are demanding for N11 million before they can set him free.”

According to the source, his abductors have also vowed not to collect less than the amount they are presently demanding for.

Aware of the development, the police confirmed to DAILY POST that they are not relenting on their part to secure the release of the labour leader unhurt.

A source from the command who will not want his name in print said, “We have not gone to bed since all these days because we have been working round to get him out of the kidnapper’s den.”

Piqued by the incessant abduction of Jediel, some labour leaders who also spoke with newsmen said it is high time he relocated from his area to domicile in Jalingo metropolis.

“Though we know that even Jalingo, our state capital is no longer safe, some of us have resolved to mount pressure on him to relocate from Sunkani to this place as soon as he regains his freedom “
