SUV rams into shops, kills one, injures five persons in Lagos
A Toyota Highlander lost control and rammed into a shops killing one – Simisola Abedoye, and injuring five persons on Sunday at Amje Bus Stop, Ajegunle in the Alagbado area of Lagos State around 3 pm.
The driver of the black Toyota Highlander with number plate BDG 654 DC, has been identified as Akinola Sulaimon.
Confirming the auto crash on March 6, 2022, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said that the driver rammed into some shops at Amje area while driving from Toll Gate area towards Kola Bus Stop on Abeokuta-Lagos expressway.
According to Ajisebutu, the injured victims were immediately taken to the General Hospital, Ota, Ogun State where they were receiving medical treatment.
He said that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital for autopsy.
The PPRO noted that the driver had been arrested and was in police custody, while efforts were being made to recover the vehicle involved in the crash.
Condoling the family of the deceased over the unfortunate loss, the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, also directed a speedy but thorough investigation into the accident.
