Suspected political thugs attack Atiku supporters in Rivers
At least, three supporters of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, were attacked in Rivers State on Sunday.
The supporters were said to be pasting the posters of the presidential candidate when the suspected political thugs attacked them.
The victims include Udochukwu Nwakpala who was allegedly shot and Nnamdi Nwogu, Coordinator of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Omuma Local Government Area.
The victims equally sustained machete cuts on various parts of their bodies.
Nwogu said over 30 youths brandishing machetes and guns swooped on five of them.
He said, “We were pasting campaign posters of Atiku in Eberi community when we were attacked.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, has yet to respond to the development as her phone rang out.
