So-Safe nabs suspected hoodlum terrorising Ogun community

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a notorious gang member suspected to be robbing and terrorizing Abule-Oko, Agbado, Olaogun, Ijoko communities in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

This was contained in a statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the office of the corps’ Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.

According to the statement, the criminally-minded suspects Kehinde Smith, alias ’72’; Tunde Alabi, and the ringleader, Abiodun Odewale, 32 years old, who is popularly known as ‘Confidence’, were apprehended while other escapees are at large.

Ganzallo stressed further that this deadly team had been on the blacklist of the agency for years back and efforts had been put in place to ensure they were lawfully sent parking from Ogun State for peace to reign.

However, Ganzallo said that the criminals around 8.30 pm on Friday, 2 December 2022 allegedly shot three (3) persons who are now on treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

He added that it was the shooting that triggered an investigation into the deadly attacks and prompted the action taken by the Super Operation Team of Agbado-Ibaragun Area Command under ACC Olaiya Akeem to arrest and bring them to book.

Ganzallo noted that the officers of the corps intensified efforts and got the suspect apprehended while peace has been restored to the concerned communities, hence the arrest of the suspect with one locally-made cut-to-size pistol.

The commander assured that effort is ongoing to retrieve the second gun used to perpetrate the heinous crime.

He said: “The suspects and the exhibit – one (1) locally made pistol has been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force NPF, Agbado Divisional Headquarter for further investigation and likely prosecution.
