So-Safe corps nab three suspects, recover arms, ammunition in Ogun

The State-owned Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) Adiyan-Alausa Onibudo Division under the supervision of Isheri Akute Area Commander ACC Ige Olurotimi on Sunday, 23 October 2022, around 1600hrs arrested three armed syndicates suspected to be terrorising the area.

According to a statement, which was issued from the office of the State Commander of the Corps, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said the three armed men, Kacha, a resident of 20, Omega Street, Onibudo; Yusuf Muhammed,  who resides within Onibudo and Muhammed Adamu who resides at under bridge in Akute, were arrested at the Tipper Garage, Onibudo in Ifo Local Government Area, while one escaped during the arrest.

Ganzallo noted that some months back, the officers of the Corps in Adiyan – Alausa Onibudo were put on their toes to ensure the notorious gang members who are four in number and known to be specialized in robbing people of their belongings in the axis were arrested.

He further explained that on that Sunday, acting on information received by the Corps that the syndicate had again hijacked a motorbike at gunpoint and escaped with it, the patrol team of the Corps in Adiyan-Alausa Onibudo Division were directed to go after the syndicates and a few minutes later, they were successfully apprehended.

He said further that the men’s standing position was suspicious like they were ready to hit another target.

Ganzallo stressed that his men have been instructed to be proactive and should not fold their arms and wait till crimes are perpetrated. This instruction is now yielding a positive result.

You will see some middle-aged men looking innocent but when they are put on surveillance, you will find out that they have criminal intent.

During the preliminary investigation, two cut-to-size pistols, two live cartridges, one iron bar and a set of charms were found on the suspects.

The suspects and the exhibits had been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
